SEQ Level 3 Managing Learn to Swim Programmes

Description

The Swim England Qualifications Level 3 Managing Learn to Swim Programmes qualification provides current swim school coordinators or those aspiring towards taking on this role in the future with the knowledge, skills and confidence to coordinate high-quality swimming lessons.

Prerequisites

This qualification is designed for current swim school coordinators or those aspiring towards taking on this role in the future. It is recommended that anyone booking onto this course holds the SEQ Level 2 Teaching Swimming qualification, but this is not a formal requirement.

Candidates must be at least 18 years old at the start of the course.

Course Content

The course is delivered remotely via live webinars. During the course, you will learn about:

  • Managing learn to swim programmes effectively, responsibly and in line with industry standards
  • Applying safeguarding, health and safety, and legal requirements to ensure safe and inclusive provision
  • Planning, delivering, and evaluating learn to swim programmes that meet participant needs and support progression
  • Using evaluation data and monitoring processes to drive continuous improvement
  • Managing and supporting staff, including coordinating professional development and communication
  • Applying customer service strategies to enhance participant experience, encourage retention, and build positive relationships with parents, guardians, and the wider community
  • Delivering learn to swim programmes that are efficient, sustainable, and focused on both organisational objectives and participant success

Your course tutor will teach the above theory and prepare you for the post-course examination. 

Assessment

You will need to complete homework tasks in between the webinars which will need to be completed in your own time. 

Upon completion of your webinars, you will be assessed against the qualification specification via an exam which is set and marked externally by Swim England Qualifications. The exam consists of 2 parts:

  1. Multiple-choice and short-answer questions to test theoretical knowledge
  2. Scenario-based tasks requiring applied responses to realistic case studies

Important Information

Please be aware that attending a Swim England Qualifications course does not guarantee you a qualification. The learner must successfully 'meet the standard' for all assessment requirements/activities. Additional fees may be incurred if the learner requires additional training or reassessment beyond the scheduled course dates. For this particular qualification, learners have 24 months from the start date of the course to complete the full qualification.
